Crab legs are harvested in the chilly water areas around Alaska. They are well known for their meaty insides and succulent tastes. When crabs are caught, they are cooked momentarily on the crab boats then frozen to lock in their flavor. Upon reaching land they are sold to neighboring grocers and kept frozen until purchased by consumers and cooked.

Crab legs is a delicacy in most places because of their taste and meat. Frozen crab legs are usually rather expensive. You may be able to find a pound for around $20 or maybe more depending on the place and season. Frozen crab legs come from 3 different kinds of crabs.

  1. Golden Crabs have medium size claws but is more predominant and easy to find.
  2. Blue Crabs have the largest claws.
  3. Lastly, the Purple Crab is the most sought after crab as it has the juiciest and sweetest meat flavor.
