Food recall: Broccoli salad sold in Washington and Oregon

Quality Food Centers (QFC) in Washington and Oregon have recalled some containers of its broccoli raisin salad sold yesterday because of an undeclared allergen in the ingredient list.

The salad may contain walnuts, which are not listed on the label.

Any walnut-allergic consumers who may have purchased the broccoli salad are urged to dispose of it immediately.

People with walnut allergies can have a serious or life-threatening reaction to eating the salad, which was sold by the pound in the stores’ deli departments.

There is no safety issue for people who are not allergic to walnuts, and the store assures consumers that the salad was only sold on Saturday, July 10.

Anyone who bought the salad should return it to stores for a full refund or replacement.
