One evening during a busy dinner rush in a fine French restaurant, The Grillardin (Grill cook) placed meats on the grill to be cooked. Chefs typically wear white paper hats, but this is what lead to a very unfortunate accident. Just as the cook placed a piece of fish onto the serving plate he noticed that his hat was on fire. He started yelling FIRE! and the other cooks grabbed a fire extinguisher and put the flame out. The mess from the extinguisher had to be cleaned up and the cooking line was shut down for an hour during a busy evening dinner rush.
